May 26 is Give to Lincoln Day!!
Give to Lincoln Day is happening on May 26th! Please consider donating to Lincoln Fencing Club. We are an entirely volunteer-run nonprofit fencing club dedicated to providing a safe, family-centered, personally challenging fencing program that develops people as well as fencers. We believe fencing is for everyone, from youth to adults; and from beginners looking to try something new for fitness or recreation to experienced fencers who want to reach their maximum potential competitively.
How to Donate:
1. Online: Online donations may be made between May 1 and May 26 at https://www.givetolincoln.com/
2. Offline (Checks): Donations may also be made via check and dropped off in person on May 26 at the Lincoln Community Foundation office (8:00am-5:00pm) or at any of West Gate Bank’s Lincoln branches between May 1-26. Checks may also be mailed to Lincoln Community Foundation at 215 Centennial Mall S, Ste. 100, Lincoln, NE 68508. Gifts must be postmarked by May 19 to be eligible for the challenge match fund.

LFC sent seven fencers to a competitive event, and we are pleased to report that each and every one of them fenced their best. With three podium finishes, some big upsets in DEs, and strong comebacks from some of our newest fencers, we could not be prouder of our competitors. Congratulations to all of you!

There is no class this week (although open fencing is always open to all our fencers!). Classes resume February 21, and registration is open. Register here today, because spots are filling up fast!

Hello LFC Family! Can you believe the year is almost over? We have been hard at work, and 2021 has flown by.
First, we want to take a moment to express our gratitude for all the good things 2021 has brought to our club. The move to Gateway Mall has been an overwhelming success, and our youth classes are full of great, motivated kids. Our adult fencers are also training hard and attending clinics and tournaments. We can’t wait to see what the future holds for all of these athletes! And, of course, we’re grateful for the hard work of all of our coaches, board members, and volunteers, who keep everything running behind the scenes. LFC is fortunate to have every one of you!

Last but not least, we are still looking for 1-2 additional board members! LFC is entirely volunteer-run, and we depend on our board members to keep the club going. We are particularly interested in finding a board member who can assist with billing and class rosters, but anyone who is interested is encouraged to reach out. USA Fencing Membership
If you plan to attend any tournaments this year, you should know that USA Fencing now offers a $25 Access membership level that allows you to attend regional tournaments (like the ones listed above). More information on membership levels here: https://www.usafencing.org/
We can’t wait to see our fencers compete this year! As always, please reach out to your coach or info@lincolnfencing.com with any questions.
Mask Policy Update
In accordance with the new DHMs enacted by Lancaster County earlier this week, LFC is revising its mask policy. We will now require all persons at LFC to wear a face covering at any time they are not actively fencing or taking a lesson. This includes parents and other visitors, as well as fencers who are waiting in between bouts.
Youth fencers, youth coaches, and any unvaccinated persons must still wear a face covering at all times. We continue to ask fencers who borrow club weapons, body cords, and fencing masks to wipe them down with a sanitizing wipe prior to returning them. And, of course, anyone who has been exposed to Covid or is feeling unwell must stay home.
Thank you for your understanding as we navigate these ever-changing times. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out at info@lincolnfencing.com.
Stay safe!
Fall Updates
Hello LFC family! We’re happy to report that our fall session is off to a great start. We wanted to share some updates and reminders for you as we get into this year.
USA Fencing Membership
Please remember to renew your USA Fencing membership! Memberships expire on July 31 of each year. A current USA Fencing membership is required before you participate in any classes or open fencing at LFC. You can renew your membership here: https://www.usafencing.org/
Board members needed!
LFC is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit with a Board of Directors. We are currently looking for 2-3 new at-large board members! The board meets once a month on a weekday evening. This is a great opportunity for a fencer or parent who would like to become more involved! If you are interested, please email us at info@lincolnfencing.com.
Even if you are not interested in joining the board, we are always looking for volunteers! Please reach out if you’d like to help out. LFC is entirely volunteer-run, so we depend upon people like you!
Face Mask Policy
Our current mask policy is that any fencer who is under 12 or is otherwise not fully vaccinated must wear a face covering at all times within LFC. Coaches of youth classes must also wear a face covering at LFC. Fully vaccinated fencers may choose not to wear a face covering; however, face coverings are strongly encouraged regardless of vaccination status. Fencers must also stay home if experiencing any Covid-19 symptoms or following any exposure to Covid-19.
We also want to assure our members that we are watching the current Covid-19 situation in Lincoln closely. While we have not seen new Directed Health Measures issued by the city of Lincoln, we understand that this is a rapidly changing situation and will keep our members posted if for any reason our safety procedures change. We encourage everyone to stay as safe as possible and reach out if you need anything.
Gloves For Sale
Last but not least, we have gloves for sale! We ask that all youth class members purchase their own glove, which is yours to keep. If you have not yet purchased one, please reach out to your coach. Adult sizes are available as well.
If you would like to purchase any other gear, we recommend ordering through one of the vendors listed on the USA Fencing website here: https://www.usafencing.org/
Stay safe, and see you at club!

USA Fencing Membership Insurance Policy:
Every fencer must be a member of USFA for our club to be insured. A non-competitive membership is available for only $10 for the year; many other levels of membership are also available. Please take a minute and register with USA Fencing online now. We will be checking every fencer’s USFA status before they are able to fence. https://www.usafencing.org/
